Save the Darkroom – Ideas Anyone?
We are losing our darkroom! We have been offered a new space, which could work for us, but we are still OPEN TO OTHER IDEAS should you have some.
We also have some hurdles to jump to make this work.
- We need more darkroom subscribers (a yearly commitment) to be able to afford the much higher rent.
- We need funds to prepare the new space for darkroom use (plumbing, construction, some new equipment). We are planning to crowd-fund to try to meet these goals.

About our Community Darkroom
Since the beginning of 2015, Iceland Film Photography Association has set up and run a community darkroom located at the SÍM artist residency. It is the only darkroom of its kind in Iceland, open to everyone who joins our association for a very reasonable rent. In addition to our association members, we have opened the doors to many creative visiting artists from the residency.
